Triple Folder Featuring Ty Cobb
One of the most beautiful baseball card sets ever produced. The 1912 T202 Hassan Cigarette issue featured a total of 132 different tri-fold cards. There were many different combinations of individual player portrait end panels and multi-player action middle panels. The combination of full-color artwork and actual black and white photography give these cards a stunning, unique appearance.
Within this legendary set, there are five different cards which feature Tigers Hall-of-Fame great Ty Cobb on one of the end panels. The offered example, one of the five, features end panels of Cobb and George Moriarity, along with a middle panel captioned "Good Play at Third." This specimen is very high-end for its grade. It is exceptionally well-centered and has sharp corners, brilliant color on the side panels, attractive white borders, and a crystal-clear image on the middle panel. A scarcity in high grade, this is one of just three examples graded NM-MT 8 by PSA, with none higher.
