Spectacular Goodwin Champions
Cap Anson

Issued in 1888 by Goodwin and Co. of New York, this 50 card set features a variety of athletes, including eight different baseball players. Generally regarded as one of the most attractive sets ever produced, these cards feature detailed player portraits and vivid multi-colored artwork. The set includes notable Hall-of-Famers such as Dan Brouthers, Tim Keefe, "King" Kelly, and Cap Anson.

This card features Hall-of-Fame legend Cap Anson. Considered one of the two or three greatest players from the twentieth century, Anson was the first major leaguer to accumulate 3000 hits. The offered example is the finest SGC graded specimen. It is nicely centered with a sharply focused image of Anson, spectacular vividly-colored artwork, and just light even corner wear. Very scarce, and the most valuable card within the Goodwin Champions set.
